TECHNIQUE: Brand Narrative

There are a few key lines you should always be able to explain about your brand. Complete the following lines and be prepared to recite them whenever someone asks about your company.

Our core customers are people who need… [what is the problem you’re trying to solve]

They’re typically… [describe the customer in demographic and psychographic terms]

The reason they buy from us is because… [what’s you differentiating ]

As a company, we believe in… [you core company values]

We don’t believe in… [what do you fight against]

We do what we do because… [why you’re in business]

Here’s an example.

Our core customers are people who need to market services better than what they’re currently doing.

They’re typically small business owners who are very knowledgeable about their business, but not so much experienced in marketing and branding.

The reason they buy from us is because, instead of just trying to sell them a lot of advertising, we focus more on the overall strategies for effectively branding their business and giving them a roadmap of marketing tactics.

As a company, we believe that every business has a unique value and a compelling story to tell about what makes them special and why people should buy from them.

We don’t believe in using a lot of marketing jargon to sound smart or trying to sell useless tactics because it’s more profitable.

We do what we do because we want to help small businesses live up to their potential and achieve all of the goals to set out when they started.
