Advertising is herding cats

People don’t go in the direction you want them to go merely because you tell them to. They go where they want to go, based on their whims at any given moment.

Sometimes they’re glad to see you. Other times not so much.

Sometimes they’re immersed in what you’re doing. Other times they’re no where to be seen.

They’re not truly loyal, while they may act loyal for a time to get what they want. Just as quickly, they can turn on you and bolt away for another seemingly interesting distraction.

They’re never going to be completely predictable. So don’t focus on always making a rational appeal.

Instead, continuously find new ways to pique their interest. They’ll come when they feel it’s worth their time.
